#TravelBackThursday A Trio of Princesses

This week’s post is dedicated to my lovely cousin Cathleen, who is dearly missed.

In February of 2017, I took off on one of the best girls’ trips I’ve been on, to Walt Disney World with my cousins Cathleen and Kelsi. We had decided to attend the Disney Princess races in Orlando, which are some of my very favorite races. Covid has definitely put a damper on things since I haven’t been back in several years now, but I am looking forward to the day I can participate in my next Disney race.

We were up bright and early for the Disney Princess 5K on the first morning of our trip!

They both looked beautiful, especially at 5am!

We stayed together at Coronado Springs, one of the Disney resorts that is less popular for families with kids, so it was a good choice for the three of us.

I took a nice morning walk around the resort while the ladies slept off their run.

Then we headed out for an amazing afternoon at Universal Studios. We were all really excited to go to Harry Potter World.

Diagon Alley!

And on our way out we just had to stop and take a photo with the Bubba Gump shrimp!

That night we got fancy for dinner at the hotel restaurant.

We were so excited to head to Magic Kingdom the next day!

Sunday morning we were up bright and early again so that Kelsi and I could run the half marathon. She went as Ariel and I went as Merida from Brave.

Although this is never one of my fastest races (there are just too many people) I did pretty well, finishing in just over two hours (2:02). I’m excited to get back to running and hoping to break that 2 hour barrier again some day!

If you’re a runner, what’s your favorite race? This is definitely at the top of my list.
