Stone Farmhouse Update, First Elevation, and a Mood Board

Hi everyone!

Today we wanted to talk about where we are at with our plans for our new build.

We are currently on revision 4 (I think?) of our floor plans for our future house, and I think we’re getting pretty close to our final plan. At that point we’ll start getting things priced out, and we’ll see what’s going to fit into our budget.

I am a little concerned because we’ve added about 600 square feet to my initial estimate, but the number I gave the architect was just a guess so maybe it’s not that surprising?

While we’re not quite ready to share the plans yet, we are excited to share our architect’s first draft of elevations. This is the front of the house, with the elevation we like best (in this one they added the colonial-style dormers that we like).

In addition to working on plans for the house, I’ve also been working on making some interior choices so that we can have those ready to go when we start pricing things out (think things like floors, countertops, general style, etc).

I’ll be sharing some mood boards for the house over the next few months, but today I wanted to give you guys a sneak peek of the mood board I’ve put together for the upstairs playroom! Part of the work we’re doing is to identify styles for each part of the house that look good together, identifying a whole house color palette, and choosing potential furniture (because basically nothing will be coming with us).

Without any further ado, here’s the playroom.

What do you think? We would love to hear your feedback on both the front elevation and our choices for the new house!
