Current Project: Baby #3 Nursery!! Here’s The Mood Board

We’ve still got a lot of changes, updates, and exciting developments to share with you all, but today I wanted to share where we are currently with getting the house ready to sell and with our third baby’s nursery!

We’ll share a full walkthrough and updated photos of our house when we’re ready to go on the market, but the current projects we’re still working through include:

  • Finish Baby #3’s Nursery
  • Finish Kids’ Bathroom
  • Renovate Master Bathroom
  • Finish Painting Exterior
  • Small projects including the rear French doors, paneling the well cover, garage organization, and touch ups.

That’s really all we have left to do! We have been here for 6 years and our stamp is literally all over this house. We’re hoping it pays off when we go to sell, and that the buyers love the remodel as much as we do.

Here’s the current state of the nursery:

Please ignore the routers on the floor, this was intended to be our office, but with Baby #3 on the way we had to find a room for him! I still need to paint the trim, and refinish the French doors leading into this room. Jordan is going to replace all of the outlets with GFCI outlets for safety purposes.

A couple of things we have decided not to do in this room: we opted not to trim out the window. As much as I love the gorgeous moldings Jordan has done in the other parts of the house, they are very labor intensive and we have too many other projects to complete to justify the time and expense. We have also chosen not to put crown molding in here for the same reasons, although again we have installed crown in just about every other room in the house to give it a higher end look.

This room is just about 12×12 feet, painted in Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray, like Parker’s room and our bonus room. The fan is new from Wayfair (we replaced the previous boob light). This exact fan is no longer available, but you can find a similar one from Lowe’s here. As a reminder, we did replace the floors throughout the house a couple of years ago, and went with a wood-look tile that has held up beautifully. We have loved it so much that we will likely go with the same or a similar product in the future.

For this baby, we decided to go with a Fox and Hound themed nursery. Here is the mood board to show you what I’m thinking.

Sources:

Hounds print, crib, crib sheets and blanket, fox hamper, fox stuffed animal, pillow, curtains, rug, fox and hound art (here, here, here, and here), glider.

We will be reusing a lot of furniture in this nursery from our previous kids’ rooms, including our Rory Convertible Crib from Parker’s room and the matching dresser (Parker is upgrading to a big kid bed!) and our Milo Glider from Charlie’s room (it’s actually lived in both kids’ rooms before). If there is one piece of kid’s furniture I am obsessed with it is our glider and gliding ottoman. They are so incredibly comfy for nursing and snuggling reading books. Both of our kids absolutely love snuggling up for reading time with mama.

I’ve already ordered several items for this room, so we will share updated photos as it comes together.

Hope everyone has a great week!
