Hey everyone! Today we’re going to talk about our nursery!
When we first moved in, our two guest bedrooms were both pretty boring. (Sale photo below).
Once we moved in, we decorated a little differently but did not change much initially.
But with the baby on the way, we were ready to make some major changes. This was actually the first room in the entire house to be completed!
As you know, we ripped out all of the old flooring, including the old nasty carpet that came with the house, and had wood-look ceramic tile installed. Here are a few photos from the install.
I also repainted the room in Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray, which is a nice cool gray. After repainting, we installed all of our trim, including redoing the window seat, putting in crown molding, baseboards, and putting farmhouse style trim around the doors and window.
I then put together an idea board to help me decide on my theme, and which furniture and decor I wanted for the room.
Not all of these ideas ended up in the final room, but it got me most of the way there, and really helped me to narrow down my choices.
The changing table is on the opposite wall, and matches the crib from Pottery Barn, while the glider and gliding ottoman are both from Crate and Barrel. We got a cute side table and farmhouse bookshelf from World Market on sale (both have been discontinued), and the rug is a washable one from Ruggable (my new favorite place to get rugs!). In addition we bought the gorgeous personalized name sign from a super neat Etsy shop called Bell and the Whistle. I would highly recommend these signs as a baby shower gift or for your own nursery, it is incredibly nice quality. Our nautical compass also came from Etsy, you can find it here. Overall I was thrilled with how our nursery turned out, and it’s a really sweet place for me to spend some quality time with our boy.
Until next time,
